HELPING DO-GOOD BRANDS DO MORE.

The people doing the most important work in our communities are often the ones with the least support. In 2024, 95% of nonprofit leaders report concerns about staff burnout, while nearly three-quarters struggle with persistent job vacancies. With 20% of nonprofit workers living paycheck-to-paycheck and marketing often being the first budget line cut during economic uncertainty, or mass funding cuts, mission-driven organizations are being asked to do more with dramatically less.

Meanwhile, strategic communications has never been more critical – nonprofits that invest in thoughtful branding and outreach see measurable increases in grant success, donor engagement, and volunteer recruitment. Yet, most nonprofits allocate only 5-15% of their budgets to marketing, with smaller organizations often unable to afford dedicated creative teams.

At Nahoa Creative, we believe that the best work happens when creativity, thoughtful action, and community come together. We've built our studio around authentic solutions that not only grow brands but strengthen their impact.

Beyond the invoices and timelines, there's a heartbeat that runs through everything we do: a passion for creating change.

DRIVING SOCIAL IMPACT THROUGH CREATIVITY

Too often, nonprofits, grassroots organizations, and community-led coalitions are asked to do everything with next to nothing. Leaders of vibrant causes bear the weight of solving society's most complex challenges, yet they are often the first to face budget cuts and barriers. We created the Nahoa Gives Program to root our creative skills in service to these communities. Creativity shouldn't just serve commercial needs  it should also fuel the missions and movements shaping a better world.

THE NAHOA GIVES PROGRAM

The Nahoa Gives Program provides pro-bono creative strategy, design, and content support to organizations doing meaningful work but lacking the resources to hire a full creative team.

Our goals are simple:

  1. Save organizations money so they can invest in mission-critical work.

  2. Create accessible tools — from websites to content campaigns — that amplify nonprofits' voices and reach.

  3. Build long-term solutions that last beyond one-off fixes.

CREATIVE WORK MAKES A DIFFERENCE - PERIOD.

A strong brand strategy doesn’t just look good – it wins grants. A clear, accessible website can be the difference between someone finding help or giving up entirely. And a bold campaign? It can take a local cause and turn it into a nationwide movement.

We've seen this firsthand through partnerships with Birth in Color.

Birth in Color is a Virginia-based nonprofit working to dismantle barriers in maternal, reproductive, and infant health for all, but especially historically excluded communities. They provide culturally rooted doula care, chest/breastfeeding support, childbirth education, and policy advocacy. Through our partnership, we’ve supported their communications and creative work – helping amplify a colorful mission that is as urgent as it is necessary.

Through partnerships like this, we’ve helped organizations redirect resources from marketing and communications costs to their core missions – while amplifying their impact and reach.

HOW TO APPLY

We accept applications on a rolling basis and select projects based on mission alignment, impact potential, and our current capacity.

The best missions in the world are useless if nobody hears about them. That's where we come in. Connect with the creative studio by emailing us at nahoagives@nahoacreative.com.
